1 stick butter 1 c. light brown sugar 1/2 c. dark brown sugar 1 t. vanilla or almond extract 2 eggs ( Break one at a time in mixture ) 1 1/2 c. plain flour 2 leval t. baking powder 2 c. chopped nuts ( almonds, pecans, or walnuts ) 1 c. chopped dates powdered sugar
Heat and blend butter and sugar. Let cool. Blend in eggs.
Add flour, baking powder, flavoring, nuts and dates. Spread mixture thinly in greased cookie tins and bake at medium heat 15 to 20 minutes. cut in 1' x 2' bars and roll in powdered sugar.
