This is my favorite picture of one of my favorite places in Southport, North Carolina, the Old Yacht Basin.
The Yacht Basin, with expansive views of the Cape Fear River and the Intracoastal Waterway, is framed by restaurants and shops that were once fish houses, graceful old oak trees, and historic homes that have watched over these waters and fishing vessels for many, many years.
If you drive or walk along the waterfront, you'll find a public dock / walkway that stretches out over the marsh ending with a seating area. This is a good place to sit and look out at the water and boats or to take photographs.
