This picture was made at The Landing at Varnamtown. Shrimpermen dock their boats here and take them up the Lockwood Folly River to the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean to catch shrimp. They then return to The Landing to unload and sell their catch. My husband grew up in this area and has many wonderful memories of how " things used to be " at The Landing.
