Dissolve pkg. of yeast in 1/2 c. warm water, and add 1/2 tsp. sugar. While waiting for yeast to ferment, put 1 c. canned milk and 1/2 c. water in large mixing bowl, add salt, sugar, oil, and eggs, then add half of the flour and yeast. Mix throughly and add remaining flour, then mix well with hands until dough is smooth.
Cover and let rise until dough is doubled in bulk, approximately 2 or 3 hours. Grease two loaf pans; divide dough in two parts, cover hands with flour to keep dough from sticking and knead well on a floured board, shaping dough into loaves. Place in loaf pans and let rise until doubled in bulk.
Then bake in slow oven ( 275 to 300 degrees ) approximately one hour or until loaves are golden brown. Remove from oven - after five minutes, dump loaves out of pans and let cool.
